When installing floor finishes, floor leveling might be necessary for the floor to be leveled to bring it within a required tolerance.
This is often the case if wood or tile flooring is to be installed over the top. We will prepare the floor according to the manufacturer’s recommendation. The floor will then need to be primed before we pour self-leveling concrete which creates the perfect, flat level surface.
Floor leveling can be required after a worn or damaged floor has been repaired. Especially if a decorative finish is to be installed over the top.
If you plan to install a hardwood or laminated floor over the top, floor leveling will ensure the new flooring has a perfect underlayment, which will help prolong the life of the new floor.
Concrete floor options
We, at Decorative Concrete Solutions can provide a remedy for practically any problem with concrete substrate.
Whether your concrete floor has been cracked, chipped or generally worn by heavy foot or vehicle traffic, we can grind, prepare and seal your floor before installing a new underlayment.
The new underlayment can be installed before having tile, wood or other floor covering installed over the top, or we can install a hard-wearing, decorative topping for you.
The range of finishes we offer include polished concrete, stained concrete and epoxy coatings, which open up an almost unlimited catalog of options.
Concrete floor preparation
Oftentimes it will be necessary to level a floor before we install any finish. This is to ensure the surface of the concrete is prepared correctly so that the chosen coating will bond perfectly.
This may be achieved by pouring self-leveling concrete over the existing floor, after ensuring the existing floor is sound and then primed.
If the preparation is not carried correctly, this can affect the life-span of the finish.
